Welcome to the
London Regional Genomics Centre

The London Regional Genomics Centre is a Robarts Research Institute led initiative and has been established through generous support from the Robarts Research Institute, The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, London Health Sciences Centre, Child Health Research Institute and The London Regional Cancer Program. The facility provides services on a fee-for-service/cost recovery basis and offers both Affymetrix GeneChip technologies and spotted microarray services.

Qualitative assessment of RNA via Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer

Affymetrix GeneChip system

  • 3' Expression, Exon, Gene, Mapping, Tiling, Promoter or miRNA GeneChips
  • Eukaryotic or Prokaryotic Target Preparation
  • Whole Transcript, 3" IVT Express or Mapping protocols
  • Hybridization of biotinylated, fragmented cRNA to GeneChip
  • GeneChip Processing including staining, washing and scanning
  • Image analysis of GeneChip and preliminary data processing in Expression or Geneotyping Console
  • Data quality assessment using dChip, Partek and BioConductor

Spotted Microarray Services

  • Fluorescent Labeling of total RNA or mRNA for spotted microarray hybridization
  • Hybridization of labeled fluorescent probes to spotted microarray slides
  • Scanning of hybridized spotted microarray slides (Cy3 and Cy5 labeled slides only)
  • Image analysis of scanned tiff files with ArrayVision

One Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer (a generous donation from the Plunkett Foundation)

Affymetrix GeneChip System: 2 x Fluidics Stations, 1 x GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G (a generous gift from the Plunkett Foundation and Manulife Financial)

 

Process
Please contact us to arrange a New User meeting. A Project Request Form must be submitted to the LRGC before any samples will be processed. Samples are to be delivered to LRGC staff at RRI, room 4294, between the hours of 8:30-4:30 pm. Samples must be accompanied with a completed Sample Submission Form.
Samples are processed on a first come first served basis, please contact the LRGC for scheduling.
Alternatively, samples can be shipped via courier on dry ice.
